Jurisdiction:

Bills relating to conservation and management of public resources, fish and wildlife, regulation of oil, mining, geothermal development, wetlands and lakes, global atmospheric effects, ocean and bay pollution, coastal resources, forestry practices, recreation, parks and historical resources, and water supply management.

As of February 28, 2023, the Governor terminated the state's COVID-19 State of Emergency. Procedures put in place to accommodate the pandemic restrictions have been reverted back to pre-pandemic practices. Teleconference testimony during committee hearings will no longer be available.

The Senate continues to welcome the public and provides access to both in-person and written participation for public comment. If you are unable to attend a hearing in person, written comments or testimony can be provided directly to the committees utilizing the Advocacy Portal or by emailing the committee at sntr@sen.ca.gov.

Advocates are strongly encouraged to submit letters via the Advocacy Portal to meet SNRW letter submissions deadlines. Advocates submitting letters by other means may encounter delays in their letters being uploaded to the Advocacy Portal, and these letters may not be timely reflected in bill analyses.
